Grandson Studios

Grandson is a Dundalk-based design studio, working mostly with branding. Their work focuses on working with the local area and blending cultural heritage with contemporary design.

The most notable branding I’ve seen from the studio is for the brand identity for Mo Chara, a Dundalk based pub, rooted in friendship and community. With their name revolving around the Irish meaning ‘my friend’. The identity focuses on their slogan of ‘eternal cycle of pints’, with a lot of their branding creating pun based items of Dundalk culture.

Their typeface I recognised as ‘Manofa’ from adobe fonts, and inspired me for my Rathlin Project. Their branding has a lot to admire.
